Ciccone's Story

Very much a work in progress but this is it so far.



Ciccone Roselight is a young night elf born just prior to the First War on Azeroth between the Orcish Horde and the human nations and before the Third War. She is 29 years old but due to the events she has experienced and her upbringing she often speaks as though she is one of the older Night Elves, albeit one without many of their prejudices. Ciccone feels that resorting to violence should be avoided at all costs unless it is completely necessary; she especially feels strongly concerning conflicts amongst the sentient races and her allies.

Ciccone was born and raised in the Night Elf town of Astranaar in the forest of Ashenvale solely by her mother since her father was a druid of the grove. Due to this, her ancestral lineage was steeped in the way of the druid but due to when she was born and the expectations of night elf society at that time she was unable to choose to follow the path of Malorne and prompted by her mother, a sentinel assigned to Maiev the jailor of Illidan, was sent down the path of worship of Elune.

During her training in the way of Elune, Ciccone showed great promise in the understanding of nature and the flow of life and was inducted to become a Priest. She had a happy upbringing in the early part of her life learning in the way of respect for nature and how to use what the Earth granted to her and also being introduced to the healing arts granted to the Night Elves by Elune. Whilst Ciccone was appointed to the ranks of Elune her mother was called away by Maiev and her Wardens for an undisclosed mission.

However, it was not long before the forces of the Titan Sargeras, the Burning Legion, made their dire assault on Azeroth again. After the seeming destruction of Dalaran by Archimonde, and the orcish incursion into the lands of Ashenvale fighting broke out between the usually peaceful Night Elves and those invading their forests. Just as Ciccone was beginning to learn the arts of the faith, the training chapel near Ashenvale was attacked by Satyrs and agents of the Burning Legion. Whilst the majority of the sentinels and priests remained to stem the seemingly endless flow of demons a small group left to take the younger night elves to what they presumed would be safety in Felwood.

What they found in Felwood however was not safety as it was evident the taint of demons had infused into the land. During their passage through Felwood Ciccone could feel the dying earth and corrupt life reach out to her, yearning for redemption and purity. As they progressed northwards they were attacked again by the demons. During the fighting Ciccone saw most of her comrades die, some corrupted into the vile Satyrs they were fighting so vehemently and yet she saw a change even more disturbing in some of them. Whilst she continued to use what little knowledge she had in the Holy powers and the forces of Nature that somehow seemed natural to her some of her brethren began to use the shadow arts of their enemies but remained loyal to other elves. This change both confused and worried Ciccone. How could someone supposedly dedicated to life infuse themselves with such dark knowledge?

And so, whilst the fighting continued, Ciccone once again heard the Earth calling to her - beckoning her to head further northwards. During one assault by the Satyrs, Ciccone slipped away from the others who she now felt no connection with and headed to the sanctuary of Moonglade. Upon arriving she felt the purity of nature around her refresh and replenish her spirit and was greeted by the Keeper Remulos with the words "I've been expecting you".

The war ended soon afterwards but Ciccone decided to continue along the path of nature becoming a druid of the wild and showing an interest in alchemy - the pursuit of the bending of natures own products to new materials. Ciccone always hoped whilst in Moonglade that one day the druid that emerged from the barrow dens would be her father or the next sentinel patrol would carry news of her mother.

To this day Ciccone continues to serve the Cenarion Circle primarily in a secretive group known as the Cenarion Grove dedicated to the monitoring and suppression of individuals that could pose a threat to the Night Elf race. Currently the group has mainly been observing but the time to act may soon come. Whilst she makes allies and helps others further their cause she will do nothing that puts the Grove in jeopardy or goes against their greater purpose. During her druidic training in Moonglade she also studied Alchemy and is recognized as one of the Arch Alchemists of Moonglade. To this day, she still carries scorn and pity towards those that follow Elune since she saw how easily they became corrupted in the Third Human War.

Recently she has found her path intwined with a group of individuals known as "The Betrayers" although her true purpose for remaining amongst their ranks remains veiled. She remains hopeful that she will once again meet her mother and father - both presumed lost in the ravages of the third war - and believes that by strengthening her prowess in the flow of nature she will one day here the faint echo of the soul of her mother or father.
